This month I have also made some very elegant earrings suitable for everyday wear. I have used high quality 14kt/20 gold filled beads and finding ( 14 carat plated 1/20th of the the weight of gold). Base metal is  Brass . These are a great alternative to 9ct and 18ct gold earrings which would more expensive. The other positive is if you lose one it can be replaced and it will not cost you an arm and a leg.

This month I have knotted a few strands of Gemstones. Choosing a nice clasp can really make and ordinary set of beads really stand out . Sometimes the clasp can be the feature or centre piece.

I just love this time of the year , the weather is so nice with lovely warm days full of sunshine and hopefully a few where there is some much needed rain. I have begun ripping out old plants getting ready for some spring flowers and winter vegies.

I am still finding beads in my stash as well as being fortunate to have some jewellery donated which I pull apart and use an odd bead here and there to make a totally new and interesting piece . I really like the idea that I am using up things that I have been saving for a special piece ( you know what that special piece is the next piece as every piece is special , just like every day is a special day - so don't save your good things for a special day,  use it today as tomorrow may not come). I don;t think I will ever get to the bottom of the stash as you always need new things to mix and match to get creative ideas flowing. Who cares as long as you are having fun along the way.

This is the design I made for the Royal Canberra show, unfortunately this year this design did not receive any ribbons. I prepared myself in case that was the outcome and was a little disappointed, but in the end I gave it a good try and did the best I could and am very happy with what I have created.I will wear it and that is when the true worth of my effort will be paid back. 

Also not getting any ribbons this year may make me more determined for next years entries. It is all good as in the end I have this great unique design that would not have been made if I had not entered.

I have called it my Royal Blue Fresh water pearl design.

Here is my latest elegant and royal design. I just love this one and it has come about as it has an element in it from my Royal Canberra show piece ( I will upload a picture later this week). Funny how all things fall into place, I was so worried I would not be able to come up with anything special, the mind is incredible.

This royal and elegant design has been made with Blue Fresh water pearl and white large coin pearl wrapped with seed bead peyote work. This took about 4 hours to make.
