At ZaniL Design we make all of the creations you see, even hand bend some of the ear wires. We source beads from all over the world as well as from local shops to keep the range fresh and unique. I am so glad that I am able to offer a great range of high quality items for your personal or gift buying needs. I receive so much good feed back from my customers that it really does reinforce to me that I am doing the right thing by providing hand made gifts made with love as an alternative to what is available in the department stores.

I am also glad to be able to creatively contribute to worthwile causes along the way. Last month's( July) charity was The Smith Family and I was able to make a small contribution to the winter appeal. My business has a purpose of being a creative outlet for me as well as giving back to the community.

This months creations have been slow as I was not that well, never the less I still managed to make a few nice things.

I don't know about you, but I just love pearls, it is something about their natural beauty that makes them alluring. They are also timeless and a must have in any womans wardrobe.

Did you know that as pearls are a natural bead they need to be looked after so that they retain their lustre and shinning appearance. As a general rule, pearls should be the last thing you put on and the first thing you take off .

Tips on looking after your pearls

• Avoid spraying perfume and hair spray on them as the pearls will discolour over time.


• Store pearls seperately to avoid scratching their surface.


• Do not get make up on them.


• Do not immerse in water or swim with them at the pool or the sea.


• Restring and reknot pearls every 1-2 years if worn weekly and every 2-4 years if worn less often ( Silk thread wears out with time, due to dirt build up and general wear and tear)


• Good quality pearls should be knotted between each pearl to avoid rubbing against each other, but also to prevent loss of pearls should the strand break unexpectedly.

Need your pearls re knotted - why not trust ZaniL Design to do the job for you. Pearls are restrung and re knotted professionally using Silk thread, French wire ( to prevent abrassion of thread against the clasp end). Pearls are retrung in the orignal sequence.

Beautiful Earrings to Entice

Winter well and truly arrived in Canberra . We have had a couple of windy chilly days. It has also been raining which is lovely. I checked our water tank and it is almost full. That is a good feeling.

I have made lots of beautiful earrings this month that are so irresistible , I had to have a pair or two myself. I have claimed the pair across ( I can make you another pair). I just love these, especially the 12mm fresh water pearls.

A ZaniL Design is timeless, beautiful and original that will not date or become unfashionable. If you choose a ZaniL Design that suits you then you will always look great in it and it will compliment you. I believe in reusing and recyling and buying quality so that it lasts a long time and there is no wastage. This is why I am making jewellery with high quality materials and of good taste and high standard. I also garantee my work.
