Merry christmas and Wishes for a Successful Life

Welcome to my Jewellery Blog

Hello Everyone and thank you for visiting my blog and reading it. Please feel free to comment , as I love to hear from you , please let me know what you think or how I can make it better.
Across is a picture of my recent open house where I also had some of my own home grow produce made into yummy lemon butter . I also made some traditional Maltese Bread pudding . There were also some plants and almond bread.

Thank you to all who were able to come. It was great and a good way to catch up over a cuppa and a pumpkin scone, especially in these busy times. My open house was by invitation only ( sorry) . I am not sure what is happening next year, but if there is plenty of interest, then I may have it at the local hall and it will be open to the public. I may hold a survey to see if it worthwhile having it in a public location.
I will take this opportunity to thank you all for your support over the year and for all your positive feed back. It really does make me feel good about what I am doing with my creative gift. Over the year I have donated some of my pieces to charity and helped raise some funds for Cancer and it is great when people support others. I am glad to be able to help is a small ,but worthwhile way, so thanks for making that possible. Thanks also for buying local and Australian.
I will also take this opportunity to wish you all a safe and happy Christmas filled with joy and hope for a wonderful new year.
As always I like to finish of my post with a inspiring poem or quote that may get you thinking or brighten up your day as these things I find have that effect on me. I found this in a book on " Success " (can't remember the exact heading as it was from the library).
If you think you are beaten , you are,
If you think you dare not, you don't.
If you like to win, but you think you can't,
It is almost certain you won't.
If you think you'll lose, you've lost,
For out in the world you'll find,
Success begins with a fellow's will -
It's all in the state of mind.
If you think your are outclassed, you are,
You got to think hight to rise,
You've got to be sure of yourself before
you can ever win the Prize.
Life's battles don't always go
To the stronger or faster man,
But soon or later the man who wins
Is the man Who Knows He Can!

one more thing -

SUCCESS COMES IN CANS AND NOT IN CANNOTS

I am going to remember this poem next year and keep referring to it . I think we all need to be reminded that we are as successful was we let ourselves be.

Have a great Christmas and if time allows i will post again next month.

In the meantime feel to browse and order what I have listed so far or come to see me at the

Old Bus Depot Markets
Saturday December 11th
Sunday December 12th

Sunday December 19th
Cheers and thanks.

ZaniL Design Fashion Parade

ZaniL Design Fashion Parade

I was at the recent Fash N Treasure Race Day markets held at the same Building as the famous Old Bus Depot Markets.
Here is a photo of me wearing one of my prize winning pieces on our anniversary recently. I thought some of my internet clients would like to see who was making all of the jewellery.

I was fortunate to be able to have some gorgeous models wear my jewellery as they paraded around the market floor. I took this opportunity to get a few photos and here they are.

I have the models wearing some of my more elaborate and eye catching pieces. I tried to match the pieces to the models and think they look great.

It always gives me great pleasure to see my designs on other people and see what it looks like from a differnet perspective.

Just want to say thanks to Jane and Jill from Fash N Treasuer for organising these models and thank the models as well.

These models are beautiful. We are all

beautiful inn different ways and I believe real beauty comes from deep within our hearts and souls and grows deeper with age as we come to realise the true meaning of life and love.

I came across a very inspiring set of beauty tips written by Sam Levenson, but quoted by Audrey Hepburn , one of my favourite Actresses, that I just had to put them on my blog for you to also enjoy.

Here are the beauty tips that Audrey loved to quote and the ones we could all use.

  • For attractive lips - Speak word of kindness.

  • For Lovely Eyes- Seek out the good in people.

  • For a slim figure- Share your food with the hungry.

  • For Beautiful hair- Let a child run his or her fingers through it once a day.

  • For Poise - Walk with the knowlegde that you are never alone.

  • The beauty of a women is not in the clothes she wears or the way she comes her hair or her figure, the beauty of a woman must be seen from in her eyes , beacuse that is the door way to her heart , the place where love resides.

  • The beauty of a woman is not in a facial mole, but true beauty is reflected inn her soul, it the caring she lovingly gives , the passion that she knows.

  • And the beauty of a woman with passing years only grows.

May these words have an inspiring efftect on you as they did on me and help us to look beyond the outer shell. The saying about not judging a book by it's cover rings true in these words.

This gorgeous model is wearing my favourite creation, that
won first prize at the last Canberra Show.

This Model is wearing another favourite in my signature
Red and Black colour combination

This Model is wearing a black and silver Swarovski slider
Creation , as well as one of my famous Swarovski rings and
Ebony and ivory Fresh Water Pearl Bracelet.
Thanks for reading my blog and if you want to catch me at the markets , I will be at the Old Bus Depot Markets on
Sunday 19th of September
Cheers,
Be happy and Smile

ZaniL Design - August Red and black Sensations

Welcome to ZaniL Design August RED and Black Collection.

Thanks for visiting my blog and I hope you enjoy your visit. Do come back every now and then as my designs are always changing.
This month I went crazy with Red and Black designs. I held a jewellery party for my cousin and she wore one of the designs ( see picture on right) she had purchased from me a few years back. A few of the ladies that attended also liked it and asked for it to be made again and so I made a few different combinations of the original design up. It is a testament to what I am trying to do with my ZaniL Design label , to make stylish and elegant jewellery so that is can be enjoyed for years and years, and eventually become a heirloom treasure. I am achieving this and it gives me great pleasure that I am able to share my creative gift with others for them to enjoy.
Did you know Red is a colour that conveys that you are a confident person. It is also a colour of passion and vibrancy it increases our enthusiasm. It is an attention grabbing colour. It is one of my favourite colours to work with and it really is beautiful.
I have been reading about living an abundant life and it is very interesting, as it is all about the way you view life and your attitude. An abundant life is not about owning lots of material possessions or rather being obessed with aquiring lots of material things. We can never really own anything, only enjoy it while we are here. We seem to have no time and the weeks come and go and before you know it's Christmas again.
Living abundantly to me is accepting where you are and taking the time to nourish your inner soul, getting in touch with nature to appreciate the whole lifecylce of our lives and living a less is more kind of lifestyle (decluttering). It is also about enjoying the journey of our lives and a truly happy life is one where you have served others and have been loved by others. Here is a good little link about 9 steps to Living Abundantly .
Speaking of getting in touch with nature, I have picked about 20 kg of cherry tomatoes out of our green house in the last two weeks as we prepare the beds for new plants. I am so excited about the coming season and all of the things that will abundantly grow in our vegie patches.I will be posting about these on my other blog and I plan on achieving my 1000kg of harvest this year. Just can't wait.
Tip of the month
Share your beautiful smile with everyone- not only will you get one in return , it will cheer up the person you smiled at, but most of all you are the one that benefits.
Research shows that smilling and laughter, builds your immune system and defends against illness, medicated the body, sells ideas and attracts more friends and extends your life.
I read this in a book called "People Skills for Life, Easy Peasy" by Allan and Barbara Pease.
So I am going to do even more smiling.
Cheers and happy browsing

ZaniL Design- Begins Third year in Business

Welcome all to my blog

First thanks to all of my clients , who I have repaired jewellery for and all of my clients who have bought my designs and continue to inspire me to create new and exciting designs by making suggestions and giving me great feedback.

I am very excited about entering my third year and I plan on making ZaniL Design a Brand to be proud of. I may not achieve it quickly, but in slow and positive movements toward my goal, I will achieve it.

They are very suited to formal and Bridal occasions or if you want something special that defines your style. These can be made in other colours so don't hestitate to equire about other colours.

ZaniL Design will be going to the New Fash N Treasure Market that will be on Saturday 17th of July. Come along a see other marketeers and support this new market.

ZaniL Design - Mind matters

Hello Dear Friends,

I just can't believe that Easter has been and gone.

Anyway it is now school holidays and we are off to see our relatives in Newcastle for a few days.

I just wanted to share a little insight that I picked up off the biggest loser.

The trainers were advising the contestants that their bodies will do what ever their mind tells them and I would like to add my take on that. You will also do whatever your mind tells you , so if you are telling yourself you can't do this or that for whatever excuse, then that is exactly what will happen. If on the other hand you are saying to yourself that you can do it and you will try your best, then that is what will happen.

I have experimented with the above idea and it definetly works. I have achieved as much or as little as I have let myself or my mind tell me I can. So I have decided I am going to aim high and achieve the best I can, because that is all we can do.

That my thought for the month , hope you have a good month. Pop in and see me at the old Bus depot markets 18th April and if you need any uniquie gifts for any occasion come and see me. I am sure I will be able to help and delight you.
Cheers
Lina
P.S. make someones day and smile at them.

Welcome to a Prosperous 2010

Welcome to my handmade Jewellery Blog.

I would like to wish you all peace and happiness for the year ahead and I do hope that 2010 is a year that you will prosper in your health and happiness and family life and have the courage to follow your life's purpose.

Looking back on 2009, I had a pretty good year over all. I have achieved some small milestones as well as learnt a lot about being in business and how you get more done when you are more organised. I have met a lot of people as you do in this this voacation and made a few new friends. I have learnt a lot from fellow stall holders and customers and shared a story or two and it was fun.

Most of all I have grown in more ways than I could have ever imagined and it is all because I decided to follow my passion to create and make beatiful items and in my case it is jewellery.

I have you all to thank for your lovely words of praise and encouragement and just when I thought I was getting nowwhere, just at the right moment, I would get a sign or an email that would just make my day and reinforce my belief to keep creating and bringing joy to people through my creations by inspiring or delighting them.

So a big thankyou for all of your support and continued support in 2010

So I will continue in 2010 to bring you beautiful handmade creations that I have made with my hands that have been inspired from my heart and dreams.

I found a beautiful saying that just sums the above up succinetly

"What I make with my hands , I give of my heart"

What I have learnt- tips for beginners

1. Don't wait till everything is just perfect before deciding to go into business- otherwise you may never start.

2. Believe in yourself and that you will succeed. Surround your self with people who will feed your belief in yourself.

3.Put your idea's into action. An idea is great, but better if you act upon it.

4.keep working toward your goal , even if it is small steps each day.

5.Never give up as the day you fail is the day you give up.

6. Mistakes are not mistakes if you learn from them.
7.Pesistence and perserverence will lead you to success

8. Do a business Plan, state your goals in this document

9. Be patient

10. Always be grateful for your little successes.

Hope these tips help.

ZaniL Design - Passionate about Life

Welcome to my October posts.

I can't believe we are in October already. It is not long now to Christmas and it just seems to come around ever so quickly. Across are some large match boxes that I have recycled into some very attractive gift boxes. Ihave covered them with my own wedding paper that I have saved from 14 years ago. I am so happy with how they have turned out as well as keeping with my Reuse,
Recycle and Renew way of life. I just love it when you have got
more than one use out of something.

I have enjoyed this year so far and have enjoyed my personal journey into discovering my self and what is important in my life.

I have found that the important things in life are family and friends and becoming self aware so that you know what it is that
are passionate about and what life means to you personally.

It is then that you can go out and get it and really be happy. When we are happy, we are full of energy and zest for life and are a joy to be with and naturally will want to help others and be more giving.

Talking about giving- Christmas is about spending time with family and giving and it doesn't have to be material , it can be your time, which seems to be a very precious commodity these days.

I hope you enjoy my October posts and remember that my unique handmade items are just that, there is only 1 or 2 items of each, so if you see something you like , send me an email. There is no time like the present to make up your mind.

Thank you all so much for your continued support and let me know if there is anything you would like me to post or change.

Wishing you all a wonderful Day.

ZaniL Design Celebrates Ist year in Business

Be Elegant, Be Stylish, Be Distinctive and Feel Confident in a ZaniL Design,

Firstly thankyou to all my readers and customers.

I am pleased to advise I have survived my first year in business and still feel optimistic and looking forward to my second year, so that is good news.

I am very optimistic, even with all the news about how bad the economy is going to be. I believe the future is what you make it, so if you think it will be good then it will be and vice versa. I know that I am making beautiful things that will be admired in good times and bad and sometimes we need nice things ( even more so in bad times) to cheer us up and make us feel good about our selves. So I am going to keep doing what I love and I know that you will all be glad to have some nice things to buy.

After one year I thought I needed to have a slogan to be remebered by and I have come up with this slogan for my brand of Jewellery and it is

" Be Stylish, Be Elegant, Be Distinctinve and Feel Confident in a ZaniL Design"

I have also introduced a reward card that I have been issuing to my loyal and valued customers in the last month or so, which entittles you to a 10% off your next purchases.

What Has ZaniL Design Achieved in 1 year?

The aim of ZaniL Design is to be a brand of jewellery and accessories that deliver excellent value quality. ZaniL Design prides it self in being able to offer beautiful unique gifts for all occasions as well as delivering great customer service. ZaniL Design is a brand of jewellery that will give you lots of pleasure and can even become a hierloom treasure.

In ZaniL Design's first year , ZaniL Design has creatively contributed to a number of worthwile causes including St Joseph's school, Smith Family via VIEW club donations, Cancer Research, Sutton School and Bungendore School.

  • ZaniL Design has donated a total $ 163.00 to charitable causes in the 2008/2009 financial year in a combination of money and donated jewellery. I believe in making a difference in a small but important way.

  • June 2009 Promotion of 5% of sales to Cancer research contributed $63.00 in a combination of cash and donated jewellery.

  • ZaniL Design has donated 6 main items of jewellery for raffle or Auction in 2008/2009.

So please join me in being optimistic about the future, it is the only way to be. If you would like to help me help others , why not follow my posts and perhaps comment . Is there a product you would like me to make.

July 2009 Promotion

Let us spare a thought for people who are suffering because of the ecomony or simply because they are poor or less fortuneate.

This month I will pledge 5% of sales will be donated to Smith Family to help with this years Winter Appeal.

So kill two birds with one purchase- buy a unique hand made item and keep me employed and also indirectly contribute to Smith Family Winter Appeal.

Would you like to host a party as a fundraiser ?( Canberra and surrounding areas)

Until next time Keep posted for more new designs.

ZaniL Design -April 2009 News

Welcome to ZaniL Design Elegant handmade Jewellery

First of all a great big thank you for supporting local artists and buying Australian Handmade. It really does help and since I have been in this business I have changed the way I shop, preferring to support small business people like my self. I get a good feeling that I am helping the local economy is a small but crucial way. So thank you again.

Across are pictures of a customers recent wedding. I made the wedding jewellery in these pictures.
Thank you to Anna ( bride) who allowed me to use these photo's on my blog.

When looking at these photos click on them to enlarge them.

This month I have written 5 posts and they are below. At a glance they are

  • New item page- Sterling silver Alphabet bracelets
  • Specials page to give you some bargains to make gift giving affordable and special
  • mother's day Necklace Ideas
  • Mothers Day Earring ideas ( 18 new pairs)
  • Gardening ( new section) -Growing for health and flavour.

I do hope you will enjoy reading these and get some inspiration and please comment if you have anything at all to say. I always like to put some thought provoking ideas into my blog so today I am going to write about the benefits of buying handmade.

Why buy handmade?

Sometimes a handmade item is more expensive and yes it would be cheaper if you made it yourself. An hand made item is a tangible object , but if we take an something intangible for example like the skill of a lawyer we can perhaps compare what we are actually paying for when we buy an hand made item.

A lawyer is skilled in the area of legislation of the courts and will have acquired this knowledge after years of study. When we are in need of a lawyer it would be cheaper to defend our selves if we had the time to learn the appropriate legislation, but we do not have the time to learn all the in's and outs of what is really needed so in effect we are paying for time, as we could all acquire knowledge.

When buying a handmade item you are buying a unique item filled will creativity and quality workman ship as well as the time you have saved in not making it your self. You are also buying an item made with love as well as the skill the artist has aquired through years of perfecting their art.

So that sums it up really and you probably knew that already.

I have found a great little poem that will strengthen your resolve especially if you are doing it tough in business or another part of your life. Here it is .

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

when the funds are low and the debts are high,

Any you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Rest if you must, but don't you quit.

For life is queer with its twists and turns,

As every one of us sometimes learns,

and many a failure turns about,

when he might have won if he'd stuck it out.

Success is just failure inside out,

The silver tint of the clouds of doubt.

And you never can tell how close you are,

It may be near when it seems so far.

so Stick to the fight when you're hardest hit,

It's when things seem worst that you must not quit.

Anonymous

Cheers everyone.

best regards always

ZaniL Design Wins First Prize at the Royal Canberra Show

ZaniL Design Wins First Prize with a design made from Swarovski Square and Triangle Frames.

Welcome all and thank you for reading my posts. On my website you will find lots of beautiful designs to look at, whether you are looking for a special occasion such as an up coming wedding or a casual timeless piece, ZaniL Design can help you out.

This month I was thrilled to bits to find out that I received first prize at our local Royal Canberra Show. I entered two designs and received first prize for this one pictured. Click to enlarge.

Please enquire if you would like to hire this design for a special occasion.

I had these Swarovski beads for over 6 months and had sketched a few designs, but when it came to actually making this design, it sort of changed as I was making it. I found that I did not have enough of the large Squares and more of the Large Triangles and so I had to improvise on my original design ( it was too late to order more beads). You know that is what creating is about. For me it is making something out of a pile of beads that are begging to be turned into something beautiful, to be admired, a little like art. It is also about making something with the materials at hand and improvising with what you have.

My method of creating is a little unorganized, but it works for me. I usually have lots of beads scattered on my work bench and I usually have an idea of the colours I am going to use. If the beads scattered on my work bench happened to be on the bench, I use those, otherwise I look for the ones I have in mind and as I pass my hands over the many bead packets I get lots of other ideas for my other future designs.

Going back to my Swarovski prize winning entry, you know I thought I was going to win a prize for my other design and this one above, I was not really convinced was going to win any prize at all and even considered not entering it in the competition. I loved it and thought, I have already made it and will enter it anyway and see what happens. Lucky I did as I would not be celebrating if I had gone with my original thought.

Since we are on the subject of thought, I am reading this fantastic book called "Maxium Achievement" and it has some great philosophy's on why we are the way we are.

Generally speaking if you have positive thoughts you will generally be a person with a positive outlook, and if you have negative thoughts , it is also reflected in your outlook. Thoughts do in fact become reality, as I have found out when I am creating, most of my designs begin as a thought or an idea and then they become reality or real not long after.

One of the challenges in this book is for three days to have only positive thoughts and to think that something good is going to happen to you. On the third day, there will be countless times where something good has happened. I am going to try this and will report on my next post what has happened. Nothing to lose by trying this simple experiment.

Change your life by having positive thoughts one thought at a time.

Any comments, feel free to add your "thoughts" on the subject of thoughts and or my jewellery.
I can assure you you will get lots of positive comments when wearring a ZaniL Design.
cheers for now.

Wouldn't it be great to have a piece of favourite jewellery that once was Grandma's, well ZaniL Design Jewellery could be that piece in years to come.
It is so nice to be able to give someone a gift that is handcrafted, as a lot of thought and love has gone in to make that item. With ZaniL Design each piece hierloom piece is unique so you are sure not to see another person with a similar item.

At ZaniL Design I am selling a brand of jewellery that exudes Style, Quality, Luxury and Elegance. Some of my designs are "conversation stopper's'. I want my customers to feel special when wearing one of my pieces as we are all special and different as all my creations are. I do not follow any particular fashion trend as elegance never dates and is always in fashion and this is what my jewellery portrays.

Recently there has been a lot of negative things happening in the ecomony and one way to make it positive would be to support a local sole trader, wether it be the butcher, vegetable grower, baker or a hand made jewellery maker ( maybe I should become a poet), it all helps. So a huge thank you to all my customers past, present and future for helping me allow my creativity become my destiny.
Please have a look and you can order directly off my blog.
I hope my designs inspire you and are a delight to your eyes.
cheers
Lina

ZaniL Design Spring Releases- 2008

Welcome to ZaniL Design Jewellery

Spring is in the air and it's my favourite time of year. A time for planting new spring crops and time for new growth on fruit trees and a time to enjoy new life.
New life seems to be everywhere in spring. Let it be a time for us to slow down and take time to reflect on our own lives and take time to smell the flowers and enjoy the simple things in life. Let it be a time for some new beginnings.
As the saying goes, the best things in life are FREE. A smile and a kind gesture, the simple act of giving. These things can bring renewed hope to all.

I have chosen to become a business recently and it seems fitting that spring is good time to launch this new business venture. It is a new beginning for ZaniL Design Jewellery and hopefully a long a exciting journey.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank all my Friends and Family for supporting me and helping me to get this far. I would also like to say thank you to all my customers who with out your support and kind words, I would not have made it this far. I will be happy to offer a 5% discount on any of the items listed on this site ( if they are still available) until the end of October to celebrate this very important milestone.

Please check the details on how to order in the column on the right. It also gives details on payment methods.

Well I hope everyone is getting over the winter chills and looking forward to spring.

Medical benefits of Creativity

Welcome to ZaniL Design Jewellery Blog

This Month I would like to write about Creativity and it benefits on our health and well being.

We are bombarded with lots of health information about the kinds of food we should eat or drugs we should avoid or the amount of exercise we do, but there is not a lot of health information about exercising our minds creatively.

The etymological root of the word in English comes from the Latin word creatus which means 'to have grown'.

The definition for creativity from Wikipedia is Creativity (or "creativeness") is a mental process involving the generation of new ideas or concepts, or new associations of the creative mind between existing ideas or concepts. There is lots of information on Wikipedia about the creative mind, too much to articulate here in my blog, so I have only mentioned a few points here.

Creativity can be in many forms, in writing, in music, in thinking of new ways to solve problems, in everyday life and as a parent when trying to get your child to look on the bright side of things or when inventing new ideas or products.

Creativity to me is about making something out of nothing or getting inspiration from everyday objects or in nature that can be applied to another field. Many inventions have been created from ideas and thoughts that happen to present them selves in forms that were unrelated, for example, take the design of the Sydney Opera house ( Jorn Utzon 1957- 1963), the inspiration for the design came from looking at a the the rind of a peeled orange all curled up ( to find out morehttp://travel.ciao.co.uk/Sydney_Opera_House__Review_5523631).

I often look for inspiration in every objects, that can be later turned into a great new design.

Creativity keeps our minds active and alert and when we think we are creating dendrite connections in the neural pathways of the brain. Our Brains need to keep creating these connections to keep us from becoming senile. When our creative juices start flowing there is no stopping them and you feel good that you have solved or achieved a milestone. Also new ideas can often lead to new possiblities that were there or thought of before the new creation or idea came about. Creativity makes us feel positive and this is good for the mind and soul.

Being able to be in a creative state of mind allows you to relax and thus the stresses of the day are forgotten. Sometimes this allows you to look at your problems differently and you are able to deal with it better when you go back to it. Needless to say that it must have a positive effect on the way you see things and in your life in general.

For more information on creativity look it up on Wikipedia or the internet, there is loads of information there and too much to add to my blog.

Beading and creativity
When I first began beading my initial thought were that I would make loads of the same item, but I soon found that I did not enjoy doing this and I needed to CREATE something new each time I beaded. I don't think I have made the same item twice.

I love to hoard beads ( and I don't think I am the only beader that does), and I do think that hoarding beads has some merits. I often find that when I buy new beads, I can combine the new beads with hoarded beads and come up with an entirely new design and truly one of a kind as the beads that I have been hoarding ( some for years) are no longer available.

Needless to say that I feel truly gifted to be able to make something beautiful and unique out of a pile of beads. I often have dreams about new ideas that later become real life creations.
I am so fortunate and very blessed that I have friends and family that encourage me so much and keep me going by appreciating my work.
Speaking from experience the benefits of creativity is happiness and a sense of contentness. You can create your own future and destiny if you can believe in your ideas and make them happen.
I hope I have encourage you to try a little creativity and see what happens.
Hope you enjoyed this article.
