This is great news as this is my favourite colour and as an artist I just love to work with it. I do feel happier and more confident when wearing purple.

I love it so much that I have bought another beautiful purple formal dress as we are attending a wedding. I know I will wear this dress to death and it goes with so many of my designs.

ZaniL Design Purple Passion Range- Earrings

ZaniL Design Purple Passion - Just in time for Mother's Day.


Welcome again, I hope you are blessed with good health and happiness.

Are you passionate about purple???. Well at ZaniL Design we are and we have made some beautiful pieces that are sure to make you feel Royal and special now and in future. Did you know that the colour purple was once only worn by royal families?

Ancient purple dye was called Tyrian purple and was made in Tyre. Purple dyes were rare and expensive and only the rich and Royality were able to afford them. The reason for this was due to the fact the the dye was made from various marine mollusks , mostly Murex and they need to crush so many of them as many as 12000, just to make a small amount thus made it expensive and possibly drove the species to near extinction. It was once worth more than gold itself, due to the laborious task to produce.

These days Purple is made from artifical dyes

We are also made about Peacock colour combination. Purple for ZaniL Design is one of the main colours used in our designs. Purple always comes back in fashion every couple of years. I just feel do good in purple and it just brightens up my day.

Welcome to ZaniL Design Elegant handmade Jewellery


First of all a great big thank you for supporting local artists and buying Australian Handmade. It really does help and since I have been in this business I have changed the way I shop, preferring to support small business people like my self. I get a good feeling that I am helping the local economy is a small but crucial way. So thank you again.

I do hope you will enjoy reading these and get some inspiration and please comment if you have anything at all to say. I always like to put some thought provoking ideas into my blog so today I am going to write about the benefits of buying handmade.

Why buy handmade?

Sometimes a handmade item is more expensive and yes it would be cheaper if you made it yourself. An hand made item is a tangible object , but if we take an something intangible for example like the skill of a lawyer we can perhaps compare what we are actually paying for when we buy an hand made item.

A lawyer is skilled in the area of legislation of the courts and will have acquired this knowledge after years of study. When we are in need of a lawyer it would be cheaper to defend our selves if we had the time to learn the appropriate legislation, but we do not have the time to learn all the in's and outs of what is really needed so in effect we are paying for time, as we could all acquire knowledge.

When buying a handmade item you are buying a unique item filled will creativity and quality workman ship as well as the time you have saved in not making it your self. You are also buying an item made with love as well as the skill the artist has aquired through years of perfecting their art.

So that sums it up really and you probably knew that already.

I have found a great little poem that will strengthen your resolve especially if you are doing it tough in business or another part of your life. Here it is .

Don't Quit

When things go wrong, as they sometimes will,

When the road you're trudging seems all uphill,

when the funds are low and the debts are high,

Any you want to smile but you have to sigh,

When care is pressing you down a bit,

Welcome to all, I hope all is well you in mind and body.

I am always trying to think of new ideas and I get a lot of them from all places including nature. I also get them from my customers so I thank you all for your suggestions.

These little Sterling silver name bracelets are a new item and are great little christening gifts and make beautiful keep sakes. These are also great for little girls (even ladies). These bracelets can be made up in special words that have meaning to you such as courage, faith , hope, love if you prefer.

I have also made a variation without the letter beads , and these are also great christening gifts.

I make my bracelets from sterling silver beads and findings, and use Swarovski crystals and pearls. I also attach a safety chain to make it more secure.

These are $65 -$70.00 and include bracelets with up to 6 letters. it is an extra $2.50 per letter there after. Bracelets with out letters are $25.00 ( on the blog)

These need to be specifically ordered.

Note : price may change due to increasing cost of Sterling.
